The 613 Mitzvos of the Torah

One day it dawned upon me that 613 is an ODD number of mitzvahs (rather than an even number) which means that there is a central, mid-most mitzvah (#307) which happens to be the 46th positive command

There are 365 negative mitzvahs but only 128 positive mitzvahs.

The first mitzah is positive and denotes increase: “be fruitful and multiply.”

The final mitzvah is positive and denotes increase: 613th, mitzvah: “A mitzvah upon each and every Israelite to write his own Torah scroll.” As its authority, the Sefer Hahinukh cites a passage in the Talmud (Menahot 30a): “Whoever handwrites a Torah scroll is regarded by Scripture as though he had received it at Sinai.”

So, the 613 mitzvos are framed and balanced upon positive commands which denote increase.
