The Single Rain Drop

The Single Rain Drop

I am a rain drop,
A drop among many.
Thousands fall down
And nourish the earth;
I fall up
And nourish no one.

A strange wind caught me
When I was young,
And I found falling up,
In meaningless circles
Better than falling down
Once to wet a leaf
Or so I thought.

Up and up I went
Until the self same wind
Evaporated me
To rise no more
To my end.
