Elderplan
Here I shall describe my experiences at Elderplan:
I was a Revelation programmer (PICK for DOS/Novell) at Guttman Institute, and they were slowing sinking and about to be bought out by Memorial Sloane Kettering.
Angelica’s Vegtarian Restaurant was only a few blocks from Guttman, on 12th street between 1st and 2nd avenue. I often ate there at a community table of eight people where one could often strike up interesting conversations with strangers.
A gentleman at the table suggested that I apply to Elderplan as a PICK programmer.
After taking a crash course in PICK for one week in Long Island, I was hired by Elderplan and worked there as a programmer for two years.
